Bad apples

All writers know that deflating feeling when reality turns out to be more warped and twisted than anything their imaginations can cook up. Yesterday I wrote a detailed entry about the violation of the word experience. Then this morning I went shopping in Marks & Spencer and found this on a pack of shrink-wrapped apples: “M&S hand select the best apples from the best orchards each season to consistently deliver a full flavoured eating experience”. Which I think means: “We pick the tastiest apples.”
I just about spontaneously combusted. There was only one thing for it. So I went back and rewrote the entry to acknowledge this new milestone in corporate gobbledegook. Take a look.
